Privacy Policy

The Salty Dawg Sailing Association (SDSA) places a high priority on protecting your privacy. This privacy policy was created in order to demonstrate our commitment to the privacy of our members and website users. This policy explains what types of information is collected by the SDSA, http://www.saltydawgsailing.org, and how this information is used.

SDSA members and individuals that sign up to receive SDSA e-communications voluntarily provide us with contact information (such as name and e-mail address). We may use this information for specific, limited purposes.

Those who sign up for a rally and/or join the SDSA will voluntarily provide contact information that may be shared with other vessels in the fleet or with other Members. Access to such information will be through a password-protected web site portal. The password will only be shared with others in the fleet or other SDSA Members.

You may always “opt out,” either now or at any time in the future, if you do not wish to receive our messages or do not want your contact information shared with others in the rally fleet or with other SDSA Members. Please contact mailto:tatja@saltydawgsailing.org to opt out.

The SDSA does not provide, sell, or rent email addresses to anyone outside the organization. The SDSA will make best efforts to prevent those with password-protected access to the contact information from using the information for commercial or any other mass marketing purpose.

Many SDSA emails are sent using an email marketing service called Constant Contact. Constant Contact adheres to a privacy policy designed to protect your contact information. Click here for further details. The Constant Contact Privacy Policy is compliant with the GDPR. GDPR is an acronym for the General Data Protection Regulation that went into effect on May 25, 2018. It was passed by the European Parliament to create a harmonized data privacy law across member states of the European Union (EU). Its purpose is to support privacy as a fundamental human right and therefore give EU residents rights over how their personal data is processed or otherwise used.

The SDSA web site http://www.saltydawgsailing.org includes links to external websites. These links do not fall under the SDSA domain, and the SDSA is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of external websites. Your use of any linked website is solely at your own risk.

We may amend this privacy policy from time to time; please review it periodically. We maintain the option to modify this privacy at any time by electronic notice posted on our website. Your continued use of our website after the date that such notices are posted will be deemed to be your agreement to the changed terms.
